Lk 18:35-43 The Healing of the Blind Beggar

What do you want me to do for you? Jesus has such reverence for people, especially the poor, that he does not presume their needs. He kindly asks them what they wish him to do for them. He respects them and comes down to them in their terms. He embraces them with his love and patience. He listens to them and is sensitive to them.

Besides the actual healing, Jesus already does much by the care and attention he gives those seeking him. While others hush us up or set us aside or throw us some scrap to silence us, Jesus bends down to give us his ear and his time. Healing only comes second.

Ask for a particular grace this day from the Lord.
